Having More than 35 years of experience in the Field of Amateur Radio, I have published many articles in prestigious international publications like, QST, CQ-DL, NCJ, Six-News etc.. Here in this web site, these write-ups are intended to give you knowledge about my designs and projects related to the hobby. The articles about foreign HAM activities are intended to share my experience.

These islands are not only home to Norwegian people but also to some beautiful typical Norwegian flowers and trees. One can spend weeks looking around if you are a ‘nature lover’. Since it was the summer, many trees had flowers and the bees and small insects were very QRL.

Halvard Ericsson LA7XK, my good friend from Oslo, had a summer house in one of these Islands. He has brought his equipment to the island all the way from Oslo and invited me to stay with his family while operating the IOTA. This was my first ever ‘contest’ after obtaining my license in 1992.

I was able to do 647 contacts within the two contest days. With a multiband vertical, I was able work around the world covering all the continents. Main objective of this contest for me was to obtain experience in contesting. The objective was fully accomplished and a desire to do contesting has been created in me.

I will be heard in some more contests in the years to come for sure…….
